We don’t know about you, but we can’t help but love this time of year and can you blame us? As the nights get longer and the days get colder, there’s nothing better than to know you can skip on home to your own special solitude.

But in order for that to happen, you have to have some kind of sanctuary at home, right? Well, if you think that, you’d be completely wrong. There’s no need to switch up all of your favourite furniture to achieve the same kind of feeling.

When it comes to the autumn and winter months, all you need to do is make small additions or changes and you’ll be surprised by what you can achieve. Starting at the top…

Yes, that’s right - with the sofa. Surely that’s got to be the cosiest place to start? If you’ve always loved your sofa, then you might only need the accessories, but if you’re on the hunt for something new for the occasion, take a look at our Bella Diesis Sofa for inspiration - isn’t she a beauty!

Now that you’ve got your starting point, you’ll want to think about textured throws. From faux furs and fleecy finds to wool and woven fabrics, the world is your oyster when it comes to accessories. The cosier the better is always our motto, but depending on your taste and current decor, you can chop and change to suit, for a sea of throws to be proud of.

But don’t stop there - carry your enthusiasm right on to cushions. Now it may not seem imaginative, but you’ll be surprised how autumnal your humble abode starts to feel with all this added texture. And remember, as tempting as it is to go for style over substance, this is all about comfort!

Next, on to lighting. If you’ve got a working fire, whether modern or traditional, then you’ll want to keep it decluttered and the centre of the attention - ready for a lot of wintery use. If not, then get ready to fake it. From candle displays to fairy lights, warm colours and orangey based bulbs will soon become your best friend when creating the right atmosphere for your cosy little paradise.

And to finish? What else could we end with other than the added extras. Make sure that your room is completely clear for a stress-free feel (minus strategically placed pine cones and wintery foliage, of course) and keep the hot cocoa flowing (preferably supported with endless movies and naughty snacks)! You can thank us later, but we know you’ll love transforming your interiors, just as much as we do.
